T.O.M.T. the portfolios







With T.O.M.T.™ furniture, simplicity is paramount, and integrity to both mid-century modern aesthetics and the original object’s first identity a must. We are constantly discovering how we can recover and reassign objects beyond their first retirement, but our approach is more minimal than most who work with found objects. And of course there is our signature whimsy!	T.O.M.T.™ lighting begins with unexpected answers to practical questions. Using nontraditional materials, we can design a lighting scheme to fill a room or we can create playful, dancing, floating bits of light to transform any environment. We believe light is one of the most important aspects of creating a space specific ethos.	At T.O.M.T.™ most of the work we do is custom, however, we have had plenty of special requests. Requests from people with objects ready for their new life with no clue about how to get them there, architects or interior designers in love with something they saw here but in need of an adjustment for their purposes and lots of visual merchandising.	T.O.M.T.™ has a motto: refitting the planet™. The world’s consumption will overtake us if we do not find a way of giving back and living life more sustainably. Understanding the pleasure of shopping, we have sought out to create new products – including our first mass-produced items (launching in 2006).
